Arlene Mae Gustafson

Canfield, OH - On Sunday, January 21, 2018, Arlene Mae Gustafson, age 79, passed away peacefully in Briarfield Manor with her daughters by her side.  She was born in Youngstown on April 11, 1938 to Oscar and Anna (Corpal) Gustafson.

Arlene was a 1956 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School afterward she spend her entire career in the banking industry.  She enjoyed reading novels, watching movies, dancing, bowling, swimming but most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her granddaughters.  She ended each day with a glass of her favorite wine.

Arlene is survived by her 3 daughters, Kimberly (Joseph) DiLallo, Amy (James) Bonneville and Jody (Joseph) Hood; granddaughters, Kasey Hood, Kristen Hood; sister, Jean Ann Backman; nieces, Jessica Backman and Joyce Newton.

Besides her parents Arlene was preceded in death by her brothers, Glenn, Robert and Alvin Gustafson.

Kim, Amy and Jody would like to send a special thank you to all the medical staff at Briarfield Manor in Austintown and Hospice of the Valley for the level of care and compassion they gave to their mother over her final weeks. 

In accordance with Arlene's wishes a PRIVATE Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held.  Donation in Arlene's name may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., YO, OH or the American Cancer Society.
