Youngstown, OH - Surrounded by his beloved wife and her entire family, on Saturday, March 31, 2018, Chester Moon, passed away at home. Chester was born in Youngstown on August 25, 1944 to Scott Robert Sr. and Helen Mae (Barnes) Moon.
Chester is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Mary F. (Farrow) Moon, who he married on July 15, 1967. He was the youngest of eight siblings all of who preceded him in death except his brother, James Moon. Chester and Mary raised Mary's two bothers, James A. Dagan and Jeffrey L. Farrow, as their own sons. Unfortunately James died on February 20, 2011 but Chester still found profound joy in the rest of his family who survive him including brother-in-law, Jeffrey L. (Clare) Farrow; nieces and nephews who referred to him as “Papa,” Jessica (George) Passas, Joseph (fiancé, Christine, their son due in May) Farrow, Jeffrey J. (Roxanne) Farrow; great nieces and nephews, Josephina Passas, Jay Farrow, Vanessa Farrow, Austin Fox, Ben Fox, Maleah Jacobs, as well as, numerous other nieces and nephews.
Chester worked for Hindson Tire in the 1970’s before moving onto Valley Vulcan Mold of Hubbard from where he retired in 2005. Chester was also known to be an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
Only one period of public calling hours will be held on WEDNESDAY, April 4, 2018 from 4:30 until the time of the Memorial Service at 6 PM at the Upper Room Ministries Church, 4009 Elmwood Ave., Austintown, Oh 44515.
