On Thursday, July 19, 2018, Darren Alan "Duke" Paulin, age 57, passed away unexpectedly at home. He was born in Youngstown, OH on February 24, 1961 to David and Evelyn (Glossen) Paulin.
Duke is survived by his wife, Dee Paulin of New Springfield, OH; daughters, Courtney Paulin of Boardman, OH, Chelsea (Christopher Bias) Paulin of Washingtonville, OH, Cassandra "Cassie" Paulin of Boardman, OH; step-children Virginia (David) Ress, Wes Johnson both of New Springfield, OH; siblings, Deborah (John) Lenz of North Lima, OH, David (Sherry) Paulin of New Springfield, OH, Dennis (Colleen) Paulin of NE, three grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Duke grew up in Petersburg, OH before moving to Boardman. He was a 1979 graduate of Boardman High School where he played football and baseball. He enjoyed Rock & Roll music especially the Rolling Stones. He was avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan, loved to travel and was quite the history buff. Speaking of buff or should we say "in the buff", Duke was once picked up while hitchhiking from Arizona to California for suspicion of attempted murder but it was a case of mistaken identity. He celebrated his release and happiness by going to the local nude beach. Duke also loved to read Stephen King novels and "The Bible" in his private library. And yes he did read the ENTIRE Bible contrary to popular belief! He was known as a "smart ass" because of his great sense of humor, was well liked, will be greatly missed but surely never forgotten by his family and friends.
Memorial Service to be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10 AM in The Gate Church, 11836 South Ave., North Lima, OH 44452.
