On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, Francisco Alicea Jr, age 56, passed at home in his wife's arms after a seven year illness. "Frank" was born on January 30, 1962. He attended middle school in Aquas Buenos, Puerto Rico being raised by his grandmother. He began working during high school at The Rayen School in Youngstown where he was a Spanish tutor and a custodial helper.
Frank leaves his wife of seventeen years, Kathy, of Girard; sons, Francisco III, 35 of HI, Emmanuel, 32, Adam, 29 both of Stockton, CA; eleven grandchildren; father, Francisco (Luz) Sr; sister, Mary (Hector L.) Cintron of Aquas Buenos, PR and his very special friend, Larry "Pop" McKenna of Youngstown. He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Rainey Edmonds.
Frank relocated to California in 1981 and served in the US Army and Army Reserves through 1991. He also fought fires in California as a member of the National Guard when his love of the construction trade took over. In 1992, he returned to Ohio and worked in Alliance Steel and later started a construction business. His hobbies included all water sports, cars, bodybuilding and boxing.
A private service and dinner will be held.
