Helen Salamon Obituary

On Sunday, December 16, 2018, Helen L. (Barto) Salamon, age 98, passed away at UPMC Jameson Hospital. She was born on October 29, 1920 in Bowers Hills, VA the daughter of Felix and Katherine Barto.

Helen is survived by her children, Michael Salamon, George Salamon Jr, both of New Castle, Julie (Tom) Hupko of Canfield, OH; grandchildren, Scott Hupko of Canfield, OH and Sherry Hupko of Wilmington, NC.

Besides her parents, Helen was also preceded in death by her husband, George; her twin, Elizabeth Lee, other siblings, Eva Wagnstrom, Stanley Barto, Frank Barto and Teddy Barto.

Helen was a great wife and mother, she remained active with Polka music and dancing. She took her role as homemaker to heart still baking and cooking for her sons until taking ill this past June. She will be laid to rest in Graceland Cemetery with her husband, George.
