Burghill, OH - Joan E Gealy, age 83, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at home. She was born in Conneaut, Ohio on September 17, 1934 to the late George Hale and the late Clara Hatch.
Joan is survived by her beloved children, Cathy (Don) Armstrong and Mike (Debby) Gealy of Orlando, Florida, Tammy (Andy) Bebech and Sandy (Jeff) Gealy-Hudak of Cortland, Ohio, Jeff (Sue) Gealy of Fowler, Ohio, and Lisa Gealy of Burghill, Ohio, which whom she resided; grandchildren, Andy (Lorraine) Armstrong of Orlando, Florida, Stephine (Scott) Schmierer of Winter Springs Florida, Patrick (Courtney) Armstrong of Winter Garden, Florida, Timothy Gealy of Fowler, Ohio, Nicholas Gealy and Wyatt Hudak of Cortland, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Shawn and Jackson Armstrong of Winter Garden, Florida, AJ Armstrong of Orlando, Florida, Alexander and Madeline Schmierer of Winter Springs, Florida; siblings, Elgie Ring of Kingsville, Ohio, Karen Krizan of Gladstone, Michigan.
Joan was a retired nurse's aide at Faber's Nursing Home in Fowler, Ohio and had worked at Hill's Department Store in Champion, Ohio. She loved spending time doing woodwork, crafts, painting, collecting antique oil lamps, crocheting afghans and even made three wedding gowns for her daughters and daughter-in-law. Joan especially loved spending time with all of the grandchildren and snuggling with her two pugs, Ragan and Logan. Joan attended The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness of Cortland.
Besides her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Richard Gealy, which whom she married on February 25, 1951 and had passed away on May 17, 1992; stepmom, Clara Ring Hale; brother, George Hale; son-in-law, Don Armstrong.
Family to receive friends on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 2:00 PM until the time of Joan's Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness of Cortland, 3043 Bradley-Brownlee Road, Cortland, Ohio 44410.
