Laura A. (Bender) McWhorter

In St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital on Thursday, October 4, 2018, Laura McWhorter, age 48, passed into God's care.  She was born in Waukegan, IL on June 3, 1970 to Everett E. and the late Cheryl D. (Daly) Bender.

Besides her father, Laura is survived by her beloved husband, Michael J. McWhorter; children, Darlene Elfering of WI, Amanda Elfering of MN, Joseph (Emily) Elfering of WI; grandchildren, Ian Pozanc, Gannin Norwak, AddyMae Lynn Norwak-Elfering; sister, Christine Bender of Punta Gorda, FL; nephew, Kyle Welch of Juliet, TN; niece, Marissa Torres of Highland Park, IL; uncle, Ronald (Janet) Bender of Salem, OH; cousins, Scott (Debra) Bender of Rogers, OH, Greg (Lisa) Bender of Wellsville, OH and Matthew (Addie) Bender of Salem, OH.

Besides her mother, Laura was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Doris (Schooley) Bender and John and Genevieve (Herrick) Daly.

Laura was formerly of Zion, IL and was a 1988 graduate of Zion Benton High School before attending DeVry University.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 6 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Abundant Life, 46469 State Route 46, New Waterford, OH 44445.
