Linda Lee Black Obituary
On Sunday, August 12, 2018, Linda Lee (Zeitler) Black, age 77, passed into God's care at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in East Palestine, OH. She was born in Salem, OH on September 27, 1940 to Walter David and Alta Retta (Welker) Zeitler.
Linda is survived by her beloved children, Roy A. Black of Seattle, WA, Cheryl L. Black of New Waterford, OH, John W. (Trixann) Black of New Waterford, OH, Sherry L. (Paul) Bilsky of New Waterford, OH; grandchildren, Julia (Ian Nenadic) Schmidt, Wesley (Britney) Black, Coty (Michelle) Bilsky, Michael Black, Cassidy Bilsky, Alexander Black; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Bentley, Sage and sister, Shirley Martin.
Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Black, on April 21, 1987. They married on June 25, 1961. Also preceding her in death was her sister, Ma Marie Mays; brothers, Wayne Zeitler, Ernie Zeitler and Raymond Zeitler.
Linda started and ended her career in Columbiana, OH, first in custodial management with Windrose Apartment Complex then as a cook for St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center from where she retired.
As an active member of First Christian Church of Columbiana, Linda held memberships in both, The Women's Priscilla Circle and The Secret Sisters Ministry. In her spare time Linda sent homemade cards to lift the spirits of those who were ill or shut-in that she learned of through family, friend and the church. She had a contagious smile and was such an encouragement to everyone she met. Most of all Linda loved her family and the Lord.
Family to receive friends on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 10 am until the time of her Memorial Service at 11 AM in the First Christian Church of Columbiana, 39 Cherry St., Columbiana, OH 44408. A private family burial will take place in Crest Haven Cemetery.
