Marilyn Elaine (Broadbent) Confer

Mrs. Marilyn E. (Broadbent) Confer, age 82, of New Castle, PA, died at 8:35 A.M on September 24,2019 at Golden Hills Nursing Home, following an extended illness.  She was born in New Castle on July 13,1937 the daughter of James and Helen (Shaughnessy) Broadbent.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Richard (Dick) Confer; daughter, Denise Ann Confer of New Castle; grandchildren, Damien R. Confer, Michaela M. Washington, Christopher M. Washington, and Mychaelynn M. Washington and great granddaughter, D’Ayna R Confer; brother, Leroy W. (Joanne) Broadbent of Key West, FL and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Marilyn was also preceded in death by her siblings, B. Joanne McCullough, James (the late Delores) Broadbent, John W. (the late Dorothy) Broadbent; great-grandsons, Rushauwn D, Daeshauwn, and Carter Confer.

Marilyn was retired from Bell Telephone Company, after 42 years of service and was a member of the Bell Pioneers.  In her younger days, she was an avid bowler and dancer but her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

In lieu of a funeral, Marilyn's family is hosting a “Celebration of Life” dinner at the home of her daughter,  Denise, at 809 E Lutton St., New Castle, PA 16101 , on Saturday, October 12, 2019 starting at 4 PM.  All family and friends are welcome!
