On Saturday, November 10, 2018, Rev. John E. Cameron Jr., age 63, passed into God's loving tender embrace at Select Specialty Hospital in Boardman, OH. Rev. Cameron was born in New Castle, PA on November 24, 1954 to John E. Sr. and Doris M. (Smith) Cameron.
Rev. Cameron is survived by his mother, Doris; children, Susan (Raymond) Olinger of Wampum, PA, John E. Cameron III of Terra Haute, IN, Daniel J. Cameron of Mantua, OH; grandchildren, Hallie, Dom, Heaven, Brooklyn, John IV, Noah; siblings, Cathie Laurenza of New Castle, PA, Connie Pauline of OH and Dori Ortman of Gibsonia, PA.
Besides his father, John was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Martha E. (Westover) Cameron.
John earned his diploma from New Castle High School, his BA from Slippery Rock University in Secondary Social Studies Education and lastly went on to Bible Studies at Ashland Theological Seminary.
John worked at Technicare and Taylor Winfield but his heart and passion was always in ministry. He served as a youth pastor at Praise Assembly of God and Abundant Life Church of God and went on to become a senior Pastor at Heritage Church of God and Abundant Life Church of God. Rev. Cameron was an ordained Bishop through the Church of God in March of 2006 and retired from full time ministry in 2011 but continued to passionately preach until September of 2018 for various churches and even on radio. Besides his ministry work, John performed Gospel Illusions, clowning and puppetry with his beloved wife, Martha, for many years. Lastly John was a devoted Cleveland Browns fan and prayed many times for the team.
The Funeral Service for Rev. Cameron will be Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church, 1141 West Beech St., Alliance, OH 44601.
