Robert "Doc" Dougherty Jr

Robert W. "Doc" Dougherty Jr., age 64, of Struthers, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at home with his family at his side.  He was born in Youngstown on November 16, 1954,  a son of Robert W. Sr. and Mary (Kearney) Dougherty.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sandy (Ierace) Dougherty; children, Bridget Dougherty of Painesville, Nicole Dougherty of Warren, Audrey Dougherty (fiancé, Shainne Lewis) of Struthers, Keith Dougherty of Mentor; siblings, Rosemary Jonda of Kathleen, Georgia, Betty (Bob) McCullough of Youngstown, Shawn (Molly) Dougherty of Boardman; sister-in-law, Tina (Nelson) Davis of Poland; seven grandchildren, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. 

Besides his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Dougherty and brother-in-law, Richard Jonda.

Bob was a 1972 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and a member of Christ Our Savior Parish.  He honorably served his country in the United States Army as a combat engineer.  After his military service Bob went on to work in the maintenance department at Idora Park and Erie Lackawanna Railroad and retired from GLI Pool Products in 2010.

Bob loved gardening, planting flowers, going to the casino and spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Onyx.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Christ Our Savior Parish, 764 5th St., Struthers, OH 44471.  Private burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley and especially his nurse, Nicolle Ellsworth, for the excellent care extended to Bob.
