Barbara Sue Wass

On Sunday, December 6, 2020, Barbara Sue Wass, age 71, passed away peacefully. She was born in Parkersburg, WV on April 21, 1949 to Delmar and Dorothy (Ferrell) Haught.

Barbara was a graduate of Parkersburg High School. She went on to attend West Virginia University at Parkersburg where she received an Associate Degree in Business Administration. She worked at Mid Ohio Medical Group until her retirement. Barbara was a member of West Virginia Mission Church in Nitro, WV, volunteered with Ladies LIFT, and was a member of Hometown Senior Center Choir. She loved to bake/cook, gardening, being a friend to all, serving her community and the Lord, but most of all, she loved being a mammaw.

Barbara is survived by her children, Tammy (David) Fitch of Boardman, Mindy (Zane) Thornton of Eleanor, WV, and John Michael Wass of Washington, WV; her grandchildren, Allyson, Jocelyn, Ridge, Madyson, and James; her two great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda Haught, Michael Haught, Richard Haught, and Cynthia Haught; and her best friends, Janet Harmon and Avis Newman.

Due to COVID and current restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date at West Virginia Home Mission Church.
