Barbara Woolley Obituary

Our dear mother, Barbara Lee Woolley sadly passed away peacefully, and comfortably at Hospice House on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the age of 78.  She was born on December 11, 1943, in Youngstown, OH to Andrew Moritz and Agnes Glista. She was a lifetime resident of Canfield, OH.

After graduating from beauty academy, Barbara owned and operated her own beauty shop in North Jackson, OH.  She was also employed by GM Lordstown, retiring in 2006.

Her children and grandchildren remember her as a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there when they needed her.   She poured her heart and soul into everything she did.  Her Christian faith was first and foremost in her life.  She was a devoted member of Greenford Christian Church, volunteering whenever she could.

Barbara loved fellowshipping with her friends and family whom she loved so much.   As a family, they often made cherished memories in the Bahamas and Florida.  She also enjoyed sitting on her balcony talking with her friends, especially Tonya watching wildlife.  In her free time, she loved going to the salon and talking with everyone while Linda M, curled and styled her hair.  She would then go to Bellezza Salon to have nails done by Jodi.  Barbara loved to travel in a beautiful car and her son Thomas always made sure that was possible.

She was also known for her amazing cooking.  Barbara would make her chicken paprikash, lasagna and crepe suzettes, which were second to none.  Cooking was just another way she showed her love for her family.  She was known for being able to stretch a dollar, especially while she raised her children as a single parent.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Justine “Tina” Moritz and Tammy Jo (Dean) Vrancic of Youngstown, OH; son, Thomas (Theresa) Woolley of Canfield; grandchildren, Jason Mogg of Tampa, FL, Serina (Mason Minnow) Moritz of Boardman, OH, Dante Woolley and Zaria Woolley of Canfield, OH; great-grandchildren, Hunter Minnow and Madison Minnow of Boardman, OH; siblings, Agnes Spencer of Copley, OH, Debra (Gene)  Sexton of Blairsville, GA, Frank (Elaine) Barney of Berlin Center, OH; Sister-in-law, Gloria Barney of Mineral Ridge, OH, dear niece Mindi Spencer and her beloved furry companion cat, Taffy.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, the Glista’s, who raised her on the farm, her sister Linda Joseph, brother Elmer Barney, great niece Spencer Taylor and other aunts and uncles.

Loved ones wishing to honor Barbara are invited to make a donation in her name to Hospice of the Valley.

The family extends a special thank you to Big Brother John Rosensteel, Dr. Reema Taneja, Vicki and Joan from Home Instead, Hospice of the Valley, City of Canfield Fire Department, Greenford Christian Church Care team and her daughter Tammy Jo Vrancic who lovingly took care of Barbara for the past several years.

At Barbara’s request no public services will be observed.  She will be buried in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, OH.
