Betty L. Fraley, 89, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, July 28, 2024, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Betty was born October 13, 1934, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Gertrude (Miller) Woodworth.
As a young woman, Betty was a homemaker. She later worked as a nurse’s aide and then transitioned to working for home health care and private duty. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed taking care of her patients.
Affectionately known to her friends as "Betty Boop", Betty found joy in the simple things in life. She loved baking, hosting Christmas, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing cards and going to Bingo. She adored Frank Sinatra and her passion for dancing brought light to those around her. No matter the circumstance or occasion, Betty never went without her lipstick.
Her husband of 15 years, Robert Fraley, whom she married on June 22, 1992, preceded her in death on September 23, 2007.
May her spirit continue to dance on in our hearts forever. Betty is survived by her brother, Lawrence (Donna) Woodworth of Austintown and a sister Dorothy Kotouc of Arkansas; her children, Charles Hannis of Austintown, Deborah (Robert) Moynihan of Austintown, James (Ann) Hannis of Austintown, Janet (Jason) Hollobaugh of Austintown, and Kelly (Alesio) Guerrieri of Boardman; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sisters, Vera McMaster and Matilda Dean; a granddaughter, Jenna Hollobaugh; and a daughter-in-law, Deborah Hannis.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at Hospice of the Valley for their exceptional compassion and care during Betty’s last several weeks of life.
