Bruce Gary Cooper

Bruce Gary Cooper, age 90, of Austintown, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. He was born in Austintown on September 30, 1935, to Ross A. and Mary A. (Miller) Cooper.

A lifelong resident of Austintown, Bruce lived a full and passionate life rooted in family, tradition, and the outdoors. He retired from Copperweld after many years of dedicated service. Outside of work, he was an avid outdoorsman and a proud member of the Mahoning County Coon Hunters Club since 1963. He had a deep love for hunting and fishing, even embarking on a memorable trip to Alaska for bear hunting. His beagles were his constant companions—trusted partners in the field and beloved friends at home.

Deer hunting held a special place in Bruce’s heart. He spent countless hours in tree stands, sharing his knowledge with his grandson, Walter and great-grandson, Cameron. Known throughout town for making the best deer jerky, Bruce also took pride in maintaining a pristine lawn and a flourishing garden. He enjoyed canning peppers and sauerkraut and never passed up a bowl of chocolate ice cream.

Bruce was a devoted sports fan who especially enjoyed watching football and racing.

He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Maryjane (Ron) Evans, Kay (Rich) Bistarky, Chuck (Pay) Cooper; grandchildren, Kayla Perez, Walter Perez; great-grandchildren Cameron Perez and Devin Perez.

Besides his parents, Bruce was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Marcia Cooper; his children, Paulette Anderson, Gary Cooper; siblings, Claire (Mary Ann) Cooper, Ross (Pat) Cooper, and Marilyn Cooper Mayle.
