Carnell "Alabama" Delaine Sr

On Monday, June 23, 2025, Carnell "Alabama" Delaine Sr., age 64. passed away at Mercy Health Hospice House in North Lima, Ohio. He was born in Cuba, Alabama, on August 20, 1960, to Mamie Delaine and John Bapps.

Alabama leaves to cherish his memory a son, Carnell Delaine Jr, grandchildren D’Ozjanae and D’Audia Jones, Sha’Myah, Christopher, and D’Lashawn Delaine; wife, Antoinette Delaine and former wife, Tonja Delaine.

Besides his parents, Carnell was also preceded in death by his daughters, D’Lashun and Shamika Delaine, grandson, Deshawn Kelly, grandparents, Lovonia and Josh Delaine, sister, Vernon (Dale) Brown, brothers Eugene and Eric Delaine, father-in-law, Freeman Cook, and a beloved companion, Devada Reynolds.

Carnell worked in the kitchen at Cooks Corner with his father-in-law, Freeman Cook. He loved fishing, cutting grass, watching sports and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His family was the most important part of his life. 

Services will be held at 11:00 am on July 7, 2025, at 93 East Myrtle Avenue Youngstown, Ohio.
