Carol Ann Headley, 85, of New Wilmington, PA passed away in her home, holding hands with her son and daughter-in-law, on September 17, 2024, after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Carol Ann was born on July 11, 1939, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Carol Ann loved country music, concerts, line dancing, and shopping & especially enjoyed Tuesday lunches with her girlfriends. She spent a lot of time reading and was happy to visit her local library whenever she could.
Carol Ann worked hard to maintain her physical strength by attending Silver Sneakers and line dancing classes at the New Castle YMCA, as well as going for her 1-mile walk a few times a week.
She cherished time with her family, especially campfires & having “just 3” cookies or brownies made just for her.
Carol Ann attended New Life Baptist Church in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. She watched online when she was no longer able to attend in person. She loved the Lord and knew Jesus was waiting to welcome her home to live in heaven, free from pain, anxiety, and fear.
No longer struggling to breathe, she is free.
Carol Ann is survived by her (ex)husband Ken Headley, their son Jon, and his wife, Heather. She adored her grandchildren: Brandon (Brianna) Cummins, Trevor Sturgeon (Tressa Pavlov), and Jaycie Headley as well as her nieces, nephews & dear friends.
Carol Ann was preceded in death by her son: Jason, her parents: Onice & Hjalmar Johnson as well as brothers and sisters: Russell, Frank, Elvera, and Norma.
Special thanks to the staff of Dr. Ramesh Kaul MD (especially Melissa), UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, The Club Hope Foundation, and UPMC Family Hospice (especially Amber and Sharon)
