Carol Elaine (Hall) Litty

Carol Elaine Litty, 87, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025. Born in Youngstown, OH, on May 24, 1937, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harry and Virginia (Folger Smith) Hall.

A graduate of Wilson High School and Kent State University. She then embarked on a fulfilling career as a realtor. She worked with several local real estate firms for over three decades, helping countless families find homes with her warmth, professionalism, and dedication.

Carol’s life was enriched by deep friendships, particularly with her best friend, Karen Hosking, with whom she shared countless travels and adventures. Together, they were like Thelma and Louise—inseparable, daring, and full of laughter. She found joy in gardening and growing flowers. She adored her pet bird, Oats, whose impressive vocabulary never failed to amuse.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Brenda Dobson, and her husband, Tom Dobson of Poland, Ohio; her son, Scott Litty of Columbus, OH; her brother, Larry Hall of Boardman, OH; and a cousin, Dean Hoover of Canfield. She also leaves behind several nieces and a nephew, all of whom will cherish her memory.

Carol bravely battled dementia in her later years, surrounded by the care and compassion of family members and friends, including Coleen and Roxanne. Her final year was spent at Assumption Village, where she received loving support from the dedicated staff. Her family is especially grateful to Karen Hosking for her unwavering friendship. And a special thanks to her kindhearted next-door neighbor, Dan C., who selflessly tended to her yard and helped with other innumerable favors.

In honor of Carol’s love for animals and her generous spirit, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to New Lease on Life Animal Rescue, 2273 Midlothian Blvd, Struthers, OH 44471.
