On Friday, March 28, 2025, Charles Edward Hannis, age 71, of Austintown, OH, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born in Youngstown, OH on January 25,1954, to Charles Leonard and Elizabeth (Woodworth) Hannis.
Charles proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he met his wife, Deborah Jean (Burton) Hannis, while stationed in Germany. A dedicated worker throughout his life, he continued working despite significant physical challenges. He was also a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians (Guardians) and the Cleveland Browns.
He was a devoted member of Austintown Baptist Church and cherished his church family and his Savior Jesus Christ. Even during his time in the hospital, he shared his faith with those around him and prayed for the doctors and nurses who cared for him.
Besides his father, Charles is survived by his daughters, Becki (Gary Jr) Taylor of Hillsville, PA, Shannon (Eric) Wills of St Johnsbury, VT; grandchildren, Gary Taylor Jr, Caitlynn Taylor, Camrynn Taylor, Leeam Taylor all of Hillsville, PA; Noah DeMasi, Isaac DeMasi both of St. Johnsbury, VT; siblings, Debbie (Bob) Moynihan, Janet (Jason) Hollabaugh, Jimmy (Annie) Hannis all of Austintown, Kelly (Alesio) Guerrieri of Boardman; nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Jean (Burton) Hannis.
Viewing and Family to receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Cremation & Funeral Service by Gary S. Silvat Inc, 3896 Oakwood Ave, 3896 Oakwood Ave, Austintown, OH 44515. Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 pm.
