Christine A Furgas

On Thursday, January 18, 2024, Christine A. Furgas, age 56, of Youngstown, OH  passed away at St. Elizabeth's in Youngstown.  She was born on July 17, 1967, in Youngstown, OH to Frank H. and Laura Aleksy.

Christine attended Chaney High School and was a life long resident of Youngstown, Ohio.  She was employed by Youngstown City Schools and she worked at West Elementary School. Christine also volunteered for the Parent Teacher Association for many years. 

She enjoyed and she spent many hours bowling at West Side Bowling, where she was also employed as a server.  Christine loved watching football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.   

She is survived by her son, Michael C. Furgas Jr. of Youngstown, OH; granddaughter, Harlow Apinas; brother, Chester Aleksy; brother-in-laws, James (Ruth) Furgas of FL, Steve (Jane) Furgas of PA; sister-in-law, Nicole Furgas of Youngstown, OH; niece, Taylor Rose Furgas; nephew, Timothy J. Furgas. She also leaves behind many dear friends.

Besides her parents, Christine was also preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Wines (Furgas); former husband, Michael C. Furgas; brother-in-laws, Paul Furgas, Tim Furgas, John Furgas; niece, Jessica Fox (Weisensee); aunt, Rosie Morrison.

Christine's family is planning a Celebration of Life at Casaloma Gardens located at 2843 Mahoning Avenue on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 3:00PM.
