Christopher John Dunn

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Christopher John Dunn, age 64, of Boardman OH, passed away at Omni Manor in Youngstown OH. He was born June 10, 1961, in Youngstown, OH to Lawrence and Patricia (Stein) Dunn.

Chris lived life on his own terms, embracing each day with joy, creativity, and a sharp sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him. He found fulfillment not in material possessions but in the simple pleasures of life—music, nature, animals, and meaningful connections with others. His positive spirit and warm presence left a lasting impression on those around him.

A lifelong lover of music and a deeply creative soul, Chris brought light and laughter wherever he went. His love for animals was evident in the many dogs and cats he rescued over the years. One of his greatest joys was walking through Mill Creek Park with his beloved dog Max, who has since found a new loving home.

Chris shared two decades of companionship with his life partner, Karen Schmidt, until her passing in September 2024. Their bond was one of mutual support and happiness.

He is survived by his son Cameron Dunn of Pittsburgh, PA; step-daughter Cassandra Morrison of Hubbard, OH; siblings Skip (Maryann) Dunn of Austintown, OH; Dave (Lisa) Dunn of Boardman, OH; Kathy (Lloyd) Brooks of Danville, VA; and Kim (Rick) Cooper of Rootstown, OH. He also leaves behind nephews William (Patricia) Dunn and Bryan (Kathryn) Dunn.

To honor Chris’s memory, a Celebration of Life dinner will be held by his immediate family. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
