Corey Lee Maimone

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, Corey Lee Maimone, age 37, of North Lima, OH, passed away surrounded by family. He was born July 9, 1989, in Cleveland, OH, to Bud and Sunny Maimone.

Corey grew up spending time with his Mom in her garden, with his Dad in his shop, and with his brother, Brent, riding dirt bikes built for them by their Dad. Together, the four of them traveled the country and the world with their family business, Cobra Motorcycle Mfg. Those travels were some of Corey’s fondest memories. After high school, he joined the family business full time and made his career as a machinist. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors, animals, hockey, and was a skilled marksman. In 2014, he met his wife, Chelsea, at his dad’s shop while target practicing. Chelsea and Corey’s dads had known each other for decades, and it was his Mom who said, “You should meet my son, Corey.” They married September 17, 2021, and made their home in North Lima. Over the past dozen years, they made memories together, with friends, and with family that will carry Chelsea through these years to come. Corey had the sweetest soul imaginable and will be profoundly missed by those who knew him.

Corey is survived by his wife and best friend, Chelsea, and their dog, Ricky. He also leaves behind his parents, Bud and Sunny Maimone of North Lima, OH; brother Brent (Britini) Maimone and their children Cooper, Oliver, Tucker, Harper, and Piper of Poland, OH; parents-in-law Jamie and Cathy Thompson of Lake Placid, FL and Chuck and Karyn Joseph of Youngstown, OH; sisters-in-law Chynna (Dominick) Tucciarone of Orlando, FL and Charlene (Jesse) Borgelt of Medina, OH. Corey also leaves behind countless friends and family who carried him through this life and his final days.

He was preceded in death by his “Aunt Nunna and Uncle Mickey”, MaryAnne Maimone and George ‘Mick’ Kennedy; and his beloved dog, Louie.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff of St. Elizabeth’s Boardman “6-south” for their care, kindness, and empathy throughout his stay. To the friends and family who traveled from all over to visit, we can’t thank you enough. Per Corey’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to any local animal rescue in Corey’s memory.
