Darlene Kay (Brosius) Withey

On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2024, Darlene Kay Withey, age 72, of Austintown, OH passed away.  She was born in Brookville, PA on June 8, 1952 to John Ray and Ruth (Mathers) Brosius.

Darlene is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Donald Eugene Withey of Austintown; son Raymond (Tina) Withey of Lordstown; grandchildren, Samantha Kocher, Emily Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Jackson Kocher & Ivy Rodriguez; siblings, William (Vicky) Brosius, Thomas (Chris) Brosius all of Pennsylvania, Velma Mae Thurston of WA, Patricia (Thomas) Reder of Lake Milton as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Darlene was also preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Brosius and both her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Darlene spent ten years with the Jefferson County Pennsylvania Jail as a guard before becoming the owner and operator of Movie Time Video in both, Reynolsville and Brockway, PA. She then retired to care for her husband.

As a young girl, Darlene loved horseback riding and barrel racing. Later she enjoyed accumulating collectibles especially unique salt and pepper shakers. Her Sundays were spent with her family, weather it was watching football, playing candy crush or the traditional family water battle and will be missed by them and her friends.

Darlene will be cremated and because of her deep love for her second home, the great state of Texas her family has chosen that she will be laid to rest there.

A celebration of life service and the details will be announced at a later date.
