David John Thurik

On Friday, March 28, 2025, David John Thurik, age 64, of Youngstown, OH, passed away at Mercy Health - Youngstown. He was born on August 2, 1960, in Youngstown, OH, to William and Margaret (Vekasy) Thurik.

A graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, David pursued a variety of interests and careers throughout his life. In his younger years, he was a ballroom dance instructor, sharing his passion for movement and rhythm with others. Over the years, he worked at several restaurants and retail stores, bringing dedication and warmth to every role he undertook.

David had a deep admiration of Janet Jackson the performer and a deep love for animals, especially his beloved dogs Tuffy, Shat and Muzzy. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life- watching classic horror films, cooking meals with care, tending to his garden, and feeding wild birds that visited his yard.

He cherished the connections he made throughout his life, holding dear both longtime friends and those he met through Facebook. His presence brought comfort and companionship to many.

David will be missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring peace to those who mourn his passing.
