On Monday, September 30, 2024, David Alan Toot, age 69, of Lisbon, OH, passed away peacefully at home under the care of Hospice. He was born March 15, 1955, in Salem, OH to Ralph and Merry (Patterson) Toot.
He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for 48 years. David was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cavs & Indians (not Guardians). He especially enjoyed being active in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
David was an enthusiast of motorcycle racing, loved watching sports and his children/grandchildren play sports. He always made an effort to attend all functions including hare scrambles, school functions, and musicals. When he traveled to Florida, you could find him spending time at the beach.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Julie (Keller) Toot; children, David (Heather) Toot, Heather (Wally) Wickline, Amy (Rob) Grossen, Timothy (Lindsey) Toot, Tricia Toot (Michael), Travis Toot, and Tyler Toot; brother, Timothy (Cindy) Toot; grandchildren, David (Addison) Toot, Haley (Derrick) Esarey, Kara (Austin) Rust, Robert (Sydney) Marsden, Bryson Quinones and Brayden Quinones; great-grandchildren, Noah, Mason, and Mitchel; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Toot and sister Sherri Toot.
David's battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.
Fellowship for David will be on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm, followed by service at 5:00 pm officiated by Pastor Patrick Smith at Lisbon First United Methodist Church, 114 E. Washington Street, Lisbon OH 44432.
