On Friday, January 30, 2026, Delores B. (Tusar) Cope, age 86, of East Palestine, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away suddenly but peacefully, with her husband by her side, as always.
She is survived by the love of her life, Paul E. Cope. Delores and Paul celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with family and friends last June.
Delores is also survived by her children, Debra Walling (Rick Harder), Daniel (Lori) Cope, David Cope, and Denise (Rob) Swartz; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, whom she adored; sisters, Marlene (Richard, deceased) England and Madeline (Dennis, deceased) Claypool; brother James (Sally) Tusar; seventeen nieces and nephews; and many friends that she cherished as well.
Besides her parents, Dennis and Frances Tusar, she was preceded in death by brothers, Delmar (Shirley), Robert (Ann), and Leroy (Grace) Berresford; sisters, JoAnne Armus Sugar and Margorie (Dale) Shaw;
Delores worked at Maxwell China for many years and eventually retired as a supervisor at E.P. China. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, who are grieving their loss but grateful for the time they spent with her, and the fun-loving life she lived. Delores welcomed everyone to her home (and front porch) for laughter, good food, and great memories.
At her request, there will not be a viewing or a service.
