Denise Marie Hunt

On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, Denise Marie Hunt, age 64, of Austintown, went home to our Heavenly Father after a courageous battle of cancer.  She left this earth surrounded by her family and will be remembered for her free spirit and loving soul.  She was born in Warren, OH on November 28, 1955 to Ernest and Alice (Fauvie) Galgozy.

Denise graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1974  and studied as an executive secretarial assistant at Trumbull Business College.  She was employed by Kaufman’s and later Macy’s as a fine jewelry sales person.  In January 2019, after fourteen years of loyal service, Denise retired from Giant Eagle Supermarkets.

Denise leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of 20 years, Anthony Allen Hunt; children, Melissa (Thomas) Schoenfeld-Smith of Youngstown, Alexandria (Mathew Lewis) Schultz of Austintown, Charles (Andrea) Schoenfeld of Centennial, CO; father, Richard Ernest (Marilyn) Galgozy; stepsons, Devin (Manda) Hunt of Slippery Rock, PA, Logan Hunt of Cambridge, OH; grandchildren, Cora, Grace, Garrett, Cory, Raven; siblings, Laura (Randal) Anzevino of Youngstown, OH, Betty Ann (Daniel) Limbeck of Austintown, OH, Ernie Galgozy of Niles, OH; her very dear friend, Michelle Foster; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Denise was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Elizabeth (Fauvie) Galgozy.

She had a great appreciation of music and loved watching her husband Tony play the drums with various bands throughout the area.  She was a proud mother and her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy.  She especially liked planning and celebrating the holidays with her family.  Denise also had a strong relationship with God and was a faithful member of First Church of Warren. A private family service will be held.
