Donald Lewis Wells Sr.

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, Donald Lewis Wells Sr., age 76 of Austintown, OH, passed away at his residence surrounded by family. He was born February 16, 1949, in Youngstown, OH, to Lewis and Rosemary (Ripple) Wells. He remained a lifelong resident of Austintown.

An avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, Donald found great joy in hunting with his son and grandson. His pursuits included whitetail deer, turkey, mule deer, elk, and bear. He also competed in archery and bowling leagues and enjoyed gardening and helping with projects at the church. In quieter moments, he could often be found watching NASCAR, football, or hockey.

Above all else, Donald cherished time spent with family and friends.

Donald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Wells; his son, Donald (Wendy) Wells; and his grandson, Hunter Wells. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie (Bob) Hall, and brother, Keith (Chris) Wells.

Besides his parents. Donald was preceded in death by his sisters Linda Scoville, Cindy Scott, Patricia Wells, and Darlene Scott; and brothers Timothy Wells, Gary Wells, and Jeff Wells.

A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Community Church, 6512 Kirk Road, Canfield, OH 44406, on Saturday, August 16. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.
