Douglas Lee Kent

Douglas L. Kent, age 69, of Austintown, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 2, 2025. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Don F. Kent and Katherine (Lockhart) Kent.

Doug was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School (class of 1974) and MCCTC. He was the beloved husband of over 20 years to Debra (Miller) Cappitti-Kent. He found great joy in riding his Harley, taking trips to Geneva on the Lake, and spending quality time with his wife. Doug also enjoyed rewatching classic movies, playing pool, and reading books. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In his professional life, Doug retired from Aerolite Extrusion Company, where he spent many dedicated years.

He is survived by his sisters Cheryl Vecchio and Donna McIntyre and his stepchildren, Thomas (Amy) Cappitti Jr. and Amy (Nick) Coliadis, step-granddaughters Shayla DeMar, Jocelyn Rhodes and Dylan Rhodes. 

Besides his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brothers Jim Kent, Donald Kent, and Bill Kent, as
well as his sisters Gert Keltz and Kathy Woods.

He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends.

Per Doug’s wishes there will be no service. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
