Douglas "Doug" Emiel Lash

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Doug Lash, age 83, of Newton Falls, OH, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Talkington, IL on December 20, 1940, to Edward and Loraine (Berndt) Lash.

He is survived by his fiancé, Jennifer Seybert of Newton Falls; children, Kim (Sharon) Lash of IL, Kaitlin Lash of Southington; grandchildren, Justin (Melisa) Lash, Sheena Lash both of IL; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Deloris Friedrich of IL, Wayne (Linda) Lash of Maine, Harry Lash, Delbert (Diane) Lash both of IL; sister-in-law, Lisa (Michael) Moore of Warren, Mary Jo Spencer of Newton Falls; his dog, "Feisty" Taz; nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Doug was also preceded in death by his son, Douglas Lash; siblings, Paul, and Wilbur Lash; sister-in-law, Mary Lash and brother-in-law, Ronald Friedrich.

Doug honorably served his country in the United States Army; was a proud member of Local UAW 1714 and retired from General Motors in 2007 after over thirty-eight and a half years of dedicated service to GM. He liked collecting Lash Bitters bottles and taking care of his lawn. He was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan, but he absolutely loved watching his nephews play baseball, history, genealogy and learning about his family history. Mostly, he loved any time with his family, especially traveling and visiting them in Illinois.
