Douglas "Doug" John Theis

It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas “Doug” John Theis announces his passing on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at age 69. He was born in Sacramento, CA on August 18, 1956, to Joseph Henry and Mary Theresa (Arnal) Theis.

Doug graduated from La Sierra High School in Sacramento, CA where he excelled in wrestling and football. After high school, he worked construction building casinos in Las Vegas. In 1985 he moved to Ohio, got certified and worked in HVAC. Later Doug became an air duct technician and joined the Mighty Duct’s “family” and happily worked there until he retired.

Doug will be lovingly remembered by his life partner of thirty-six years, Michele Prusak. He will be sadly missed by his siblings, Jean Mathews, Janice (Rick)Turnage, Patricia (Scott) Peruch, and Clarence (Lennie) Theis. Doug was loved by everyone he met and was usually the life of every party.

Besides his parents, Doug was also preceded in death by his brothers, Greg and Joseph Theis. 

Doug loved the ocean; he and Michele would vacation there every year and sometimes twice. He had a wonderful laugh and two furry four-legged companions that adored him. He often said that they made him laugh at least one each day.

During retirement Doug loved working around the house and planting flowers in his garden. He could not wait for summer because he spent many hours working outside and then relaxing by the pool with his family.

Michele will greatly miss Doug. They spent their time just talking and loving the life they built together. He will be forever cherished in her heart.

A celebration of life will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at his and Michele's home.
