Eighty Today

Dear Lord, I am eighty and there's much I haven't done.

I hope, dear Lord, you'll let me live until I'm eighty-one.

But if I haven't finished all I want to do

Would you please let me stay a while until I'm eighty-two?

So many places I want to go, so much I want to see

Do you think you could manage to make it eighty-three?

Many things I have done, but there's so much left in store

I'd like it very much to live to eighty-four

And then if I'm still alive, then I'd like to stay to eighty-five

The world is changing very fast, so I'd really like to stick around

And see what happens to the world when I'm eighty-six

I know, dear Lord, it's a lot to ask and it will be nice to be in heaven

But, I'd really like to stay around until I'm eighty-seven

I know by then I won't be fast, and sometimes I'll be late

But it would be oh-so-pleasant to be around at eighty-eight

I will have seen so many things and had a wonderful time

So, I'm sure that I'll be willing to leave at eighty-nine (Well-maybe)

On Friday, March 7, 2025, Edward Paul Cronin, age 89, of Austintown, OH passed away peacefully at home. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 30, 1935 to Albert and Mary (Ingold) Cronin.

Ed is survived by his long time friend, Thomas S. Algeo, of Austintown; a niece from Pittsburgh, his cat, Bella and friends from his former worship site, Christ Community Church.

Ed was retired from the Ohio Turnpike Commision and honorably service in country in the United States Army.

Pastor Joel Theiss will officiate Ed's Memorial Service at 11:00am on Saturday, March 15, 2025 in Bethel Assembly of God Church, 3807 Mahoning Ave, Austintown, OH 44515, followed by Military Honors.
