On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, Edward “Russell” Haynes, age 60, passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Poland. He was born June 8, 1964, in Youngstown OH to Edward "Roscoe" and Rebecca (Fischer) Haynes.
He was a lifelong Boardman resident and a 1982 Canfield High School graduate.
Russell was an extremely talented tile setter and a jack of all trades. His work can still be found at various banks, restaurants, and residential homes throughout the valley. In his later years, he worked as a fire suppression technician.
He was a passionate Miami Dolphins fan and loved watching NASCAR and golf on the weekends when “his” team wasn’t on TV. Although obstinate and opinionated at times, he would often say with a twinkle in his eye, “How do you like me now?” Russell was a kind-hearted and tender soul who was always there to lend a helping hand and would give you the shirt off his back.
He was a free spirit who thoroughly enjoyed all things fun and daring - fast cars, festivals, roller coasters, water parks, bounce houses, music, and “his” dogs. If it was fun and joyful you could always count him in.
Russell will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Becky Haynes with whom he shared his home; his beloved daughter, Maria Haynes; Maria’s mother and dear friend, Tammy Lindblad; his sisters, Brenda (Donald) Wine, Beverly (Carl) Cooper, Teresa (Dave) Colabine; his brothers Rick (Teri) Haynes and James (Judi) Haynes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward “Roscoe” Haynes, and his grandson, Jax Jakub Hagerty.
The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate nurses at Hospice House.
You are finally at peace, Russell - we will see you on the other side.
