On Sunday, January 25, 2026, Edward Mark Platenak Jr, age 66, of Youngstown, OH passed away peacefully at home. He was born in Youngstown, OH on November 2, 1959, to Edward and Dorothy Ann (Vlajkovich) Platenak.

Edward is survived by his siblings, Daniel Lee Platenak of Powell, OH, Linda Marie Platenak, of Youngstown with whom he made his home, Kenneth Platenak of Powell, OH; niece, Kary Platenak of Medina, OH and nephew, DJ (Heejoo) Platenak of Austin, TX.

Edward was a retired custodian at Northside Hospital after forty years in the Cleaning & Maintenance Department.
