On Monday, September 28, 2026, Eleanor Joan (Volansky) Bouch, age 87, of McDonald, OH passed away peacefully with her husband of sixty-five years, Clark, and their family by her side. She was born in Dubois, PA on June 28, 1939, to Michael and Mary (Slotta) Volansky.
Raised in Sykesville, PA, Eleanor attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education, then taught art at Brockway High School.
On September 2, 1961, Eleanor married her beloved Clark. In 1962 they moved to McDonald where she raised her family and lived in the same home until her passing after a short stay at Austinwoods Nursing Home. Eleanor was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald. She enjoyed camping with family and friends and made many lasting friendships while spending summers at Pymatuning Lake. An avid reader, Eleanor also loved to write journals and letters, and they were quite the letters! She enjoyed playing games, especially scrabble and cards. She found pleasure in baking and cooking and made the best pierogies and haluski. She even enjoyed bowling, fishing, and traveling. She and Clark visited forty-eight of the fifty United States. Most importantly, Eleanor loved her family and friends and never met a stranger. She could socialize with the best of them.
Besides her husband, Clark, Eleanor is survived by her children, Joseph (Karen) Bouch, Stephen (Tawni) Bouch, Christine (John) Mathews, Andrew (Angela) Bouch, Amy Bouch; grandchildren, Amanda (Cody) Sheeler, Angela (Brandon) Howes, Adam (Megan) Bouch, Mackenzie (Zach) Peaslee, Kaitlyn (Seth) Nobbs, Sarah (Curtis) Burns, Rachel (Zachary Armstrong) Mathews, AJ Bouch; sisters, Betsy (David) Woodling, Georgeann (Jerry) Bianco; eight great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Eleanor was also preceded in death by her brother, Michael Volansky and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church/Queen of Heaven, 618 Ohio Ave, McDonald, OH. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. A reception and meal will immediately follow the service in the church hall.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Austinwoods Nursing Center and Southern Care Hospice for the care and compassion provided to Eleanor and her family.
