On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, Ellen Marie (Blackann) Guittar Waller, age 80, of Youngstown, OH, passed away in St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. She was born on August 31, 1945, to Dr. Herbert Clarence Jr. and Betty Lee (Patterson) Blackann.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Greg Waller Jr; children, Jeri Guittar, Jack (Jeanette) Guittar; stepsons, Greg (Mira) Waller III, John (Maureen) Waller; grandchildren, Ashley Reese, Sara Gherardi (seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren); siblings, Herbert (Judy) Blackann, Thomas (Linda) Blackann, John (Gay) Blackann, Betty Arn, Harold (Cheri) Blackann and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Ellen was also preceded in death by her son, Jason Guittar; siblings, Dr. Robert Blackann and Jerry Blackann.
Ellen was an incredibly warm and sweet woman who lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and quiet joys. She worked for both Tupperware and Youngstown Spray Equipment during her career. She was also a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles FOE 213.
In her free time, Ellen found joy in crocheting and making baby blankets for family and friends—a heartfelt expression of her care and creativity. An avid reader, she often read one or two books each week, finding comfort and inspiration in the written word.
A member of First United Methodist Church in Austintown, who was of the Christian faith that guided her throughout her life. Her deep love of Jesus was evident in the way she lived and served others.
Ellen cherished time spent with family, especially enjoying dinners and attending events together. Her presence brought warmth to every gathering, and she will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.

Viewing and family to receive friends on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2:00-5:00 pm, when the Prayer Service will begin at Cremation & Funeral Service by Gary S Silvat Inc., 3896 Oakwood Ave, Austintown, OH 44515. A private burial will take place in Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
