On Sunday, January 18, 2026, Ernest William "Ernie" Palmer passed away at Hospice House in Poland, OH. He was born in Youngstown, OH, to Ernest William and Agnes Cecilia (Macala) Palmer. He lived in Youngstown, OH, for many years before moving to Mineral Ridge, OH, where he has resided for the past 42 years.
A 1963 graduate of Chaney High School, Ernie built a life centered around family and enduring connections. He was the owner of numerous gas stations in the Mahoning Valley. After selling the gas stations, Ernie went on to spend the next eight years working for Polyair in Youngstown.
Ernie is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Anna Pacholec; children, Juli (Art) Kennedy of Massachusetts and Chris (Kenna) Palmer of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Thomas Kennedy and Anne Kennedy of Massachusetts, and Alex Palmer and Kayla Palmer of Alaska. He is also remembered by his brother-in-law, Rich (Joi) Pacholec of Ohio.
Besides his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by his brother, Robert J. Palmer.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public services.
