Floyd M. “Mickey” Redmond, age 77, of Farrell, PA passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024. He was born in Sharon, PA, on March 12, 1947, to William Redmond Sr. and Katherine (Zurawsky) Redmond.
Mickey is survived by his children, Lisa Kaye Redmond of Farrell, PA, Vicki (Bryan) Langietti of Beaver, PA, April (William) Redmond Quigley of Beals, ME, Ian (Maggie) Redmond of Braddock, PA, Logan Redmond of Erie, PA; siblings, Patricia (Michael) Boldish of Hermitage, PA, William Redmond Jr. of SC; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Growing up, Mickey attended Farrell schools and New Castle School of Trades. He was a welder by profession and over the years was employed by GATX, Greenville Steel Car, and Trinity Industries.
As a young man, Mickey restored cars and spent time racing at Sunset Dragstrip. He enjoyed refinishing vintage furniture, but his favorite hobby was dancing - as a teenager he appeared on local television record hops including WYTV’s Dance Party hosted by Boots Bell. Mickey loved live music and spending quality time with friends and family. He will be sincerely missed, and his one-of-a-kind heart of gold will be remembered and cherished forever.
