Frank Anderson Obituary

Frank E. Anderson Sr., 74, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026. He was a cherished son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, uncle, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather, and he will be deeply missed.

During his early years, he served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as an aircraft electrical engineer working on B-52s. He always had stories of his time in service, as well as his love for

airplanes and history—all of which were topics he could discuss for hours. After the military, he worked for a short time at Pizza Hut as a manager, where he met his wife, later becoming an electronics technician for Hobart, where he worked for many years.

Some of his most cherished times were spent watching movies and shows or fishing with his wife and sons at Lake Milton. He also enjoyed spending time at Denny's, Dunkin' Donuts, and Donut Oven, talking and laughing with friends he had made over the years while he played scratch-offs and lamented what he would do if he ever finally "hit it big." He also spent time with his wife and sons singing karaoke and hanging out with friends he made while doing so. Both his sons will remember him fondly as a steadfast, loving father who adored them both.

In later years, he spent time laughing with his grandchildren—generally as they worked to fix his cellphone, which was forever acting up and giving him a hard time—while telling them stories of his life, discussing their lives, or talking about his time in the military. He spoke weekly with his parents, whom he loved dearly, and looked forward to their visits, as he did spending time with his family playing pinochle, visiting at his sister's every year for the Fourth of July, and other family get-togethers. During various times in his life, he fell on hard times or had to overcome challenges, but he always weathered those moments with an "Anderson sigh" and a grumble, then did whatever was necessary to get the family through. His was a life hard-fought, but always full of life, laughter, and love.

Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife of over forty years, Cynthia; a sister, Laurene; brother, Robert; mother, Joyce; and father, Arthur—the latter of whom also just recently passed and who I am sure Frank is now spending time with in the afterlife. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn; sisters, Jeanne and Judy; and his brother, Lee. He also leaves behind two sons, Frank Jr. and James; multiple grandchildren, Michael, Alexandria (Lexi), Kyle, Emma, and Taylor; and a soon-to-be great-grandchild, Sylus and multiple nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service in Frank's honor will be on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 11:00 am until the time of Military Honors and a Celebration of Life Service at 12 NOON at Beautiful Feet Ministries, 8590 Hitchcock Rd, Boardman, OH 44512. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local VFW or a veterans' charity of your preference in Frank's memory.

We love you, Dad, and will carry you with us in our hearts, always.
