Freddie Napolitano Jr. Obituary

On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Freddie Napolitano Jr, age 72, of Canfield, Ohio passed away peacefully at home. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on September 23, 1952, to Fred Steven and Bette Rae (Miller) Napolitano.

Freddie grew up in Austintown, graduated from Fitch High School in 1968, then attended and completed his training at the Victor George Beauty Academy. He Began his career at Richard Ombres, Top of the Eastwood Mall in Niles. In 1981, Freddie opened his own establishment, “Freddies, A Solon” in the Paris Tradition. He spent the last four years of his extensive career at Tara Mia's Salon, Warren, Ohio, retiring 2020.

Freddie is survived by his husband, Theodore N. Zoumis, who he married on September 21, 2015. Freddie and Ted were together for forty-three years.

He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary (Tom) Sferro; sisters-in-law, Anna (Gust) Klimis, Chris Trikilis, Angie (Rick) Milano, Kelly Valva, Maria (Steve) Lyras, Nancy Billiris; twenty-three nieces and nephews and thirty-six great nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by his siblings, Steven (the late Marsha) Napolitano and James Napolitano.

For forty years, Freddie was not just a hair stylist; he was a confidant, a friend, a skilled pair of hands that created not only hair styles but lifelong appreciative clients. He had a unique ability to listen, understand, and create a look that reflected each person sitting in his chair; making them feel their absolute best. Whatever the hairstyle, Freddie did it with artistry, a warm smile, and a genuine love for his clients, who became like family to him. His salon was not just a place to get a haircut; it was a sanctuary where laughter, stories, and life updates exchanged freely.

Freddie will be deeply missed, not just for his incredible talent, but for the warmth and kindness he brought to every interaction. He will be greatly missed by his husband, Ted Zoumis, with whom he shared genuine love and commitment. He will also be missed by a large family and friends.

Ted would like to extend a special thank you to Wendy L. Shone and Carole Lafave for all they have done through Fred’s illness.
