George Michael Pyne, lovingly known as Mike or Uncle Mickey of Liberty Township, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on December 18, 1942, Mike spent most of his life in the Youngstown/Warren area, where he built a legacy of kindness, integrity, and love.
After graduating from high school, Mike proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his service, he began a long and dedicated career with General Motors, where he worked diligently until his retirement. His work ethic and commitment were matched only by his generosity and warm spirit.
Mike was previously involved as an elder in the Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Rae Pyne, and three loving children, Chris Pyne, KellyJeanne (Robin) Pyne, and Shannon (John) Parsons, and his sister Judy Willoughby. He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Korey Pyne, Michael Pyne, Sydney Grau, Samantha Parsons, Jake Parsons, and Conner Pyne, and one precious great-granddaughter, Percy Grau. He was preceded in death by two sons: George Michael (Micky) Pyne and Randall Pyne, birth parents Robert Pyne Jr. and Anna Marie Pyne, adoptive parents Benjamin and Kathryn (Pyne) Vaughan, and siblings, Benny Vaughn, Mary “Suzie” Cunningham, and Kathleen Smith.
Mike will be remembered as one of the kindest souls you could ever meet—a man whose heart was as big as his smile. He touched the lives of everyone around him with his warmth, humor, and unwavering love for family and friends. His legacy of compassion and strength will live on in all who knew him.
