On Friday, November 16, 2018, Geraldine “Jeri” Lucille (Skinner) Morar, age 84, passed away in Columbus, GA. She was born in Youngstown, OH on December 18, 1933 to John Skinner and Lucille (Fast) Skinner Billet who raised her in Leetonia, OH.
Jeri is survived by her dear children, Samuel Morar of Jefferson, Ohio, Lynn (William) Morar-Jacobs of Valley, Alabama; grandchildren, Tyler Jacobs of Valley, Alabama, Samantha Jacobs of Atlanta, Georgia; siblings, Pattie (Joe) Alessi, Vicki Moore all of Youngstown, OH, Terri (Jim) Gregory Scullion of East Palestine, OH, nieces and nephews.
Jeri lived most of her adult life in Conneaut, OH, where she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and an active member of the Moose Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign War. She was an accomplished bowler and liked to dance especially, to Elvis music as she was his number one fan. She lived in Jesup, Georgia for eighteen years. She resided in Harborview (Golden Living Center) nursing home of Jesup for eight years where many of the staff members and residents became like family to her. Most recently she resided at Muscogee Manor in Columbus, GA allowing her to expand on her surrogate family of caregivers. She was a loving mother and adoring grandmother. Her smile could light up a room and her laughter was contagious. She loved life and was courageous throughout many trials especially her most recent illness.
Besides her parents, Jeri was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ely Morar in 1991 and sister, Dee (the late Frank Myers) Myers Kornbau.
Calling hours on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 9 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Christine Parish, 3165 S Schenley Ave., YO, OH 44511.
