Gretchen Hardie Obituary

After a brief illness, on Thursday, July 2, 2020, in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Gretchen Mary (Stein) Hardie, age 76, passed away. She was born in Silverton, OR on March 19,1944 to Roy and Frances Stein.

Gretchen enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing pool, playing rum-a-cube, traveling, spending time with family, and her cold beer. She was a member of the Elks #69, where she took on many projects including writing the newsletter.

She is survived by her children, Sherrie L (Randall) Cook of New Castle, PA, Robert A Mathew of Gold Hill, OR, Michael D Mathew of Camp Hill, PA; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; plus more joined by love, including her furry companion, Lucy.

Gretchen was preceded in death by the love of her life, Michael Kos (2014).
