Gwennetta Lee Russ

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, Gwennetta "Gwen" Lee Russ, age 71, of Youngstown, OH passed away quietly at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman. She was born in Youngstown on June 28, 1954, to  Ella Mae (Bingham) Erkard.

Gwen graduated from The Rayen School in 1972. She was employed by Servi-Clean Industries for several years before joining Northside Hospital, where she worked in the Dietary Department for approximately 20 years until her retirement.

She was a devoted member of Lincoln Christian Church in Youngstown, Ohio. In her leisure time, Gwen enjoyed cooking for family and friends, playing the lottery, and visiting the casino.

Gwen is survived by her sister, Robbie J. Tate of Youngstown; niece, Donnita Tate and great-niece, Perry Woodson, both of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Mae, and father, Alvin Erkard; brother, Corporal James L. Russ, John E. Russ; and sister, Marian L. Russ.

A Memorial Service will be announced in the coming weeks.
