On Saturday, January 5, 2025, Howard Carl Kyle, age 76, of Howland, OH, passed away at Mercy Health – St. Joseph Warren Hospital. He was born April 17, 1948, in Ashtabula, OH to Howard and Bulah (Mozingo) Kyle.
He was raised in Dorset, OH, and loved spending time at Lake Erie. In his younger years, he loved to sail with his friends.
Howard attended Kent State University, loved to write stories and research people and places that would fit into his writing. He found peace in gardening and spending time outdoors. When it came to sports, you could find him cheering on the Cleveland Browns and Guardians. Howard also loved animals and found enjoyment in caring for those in his neighborhood, along with his wife and friend. He enjoyed planning trips where he could spend time with his family.
Howard is survived by his loving wife, Candy Carrigan of Howland, OH, daughter, Heather (Mike) Shaffer of Rostraver, PA, grandson, Tyler Brinkman of Saylorsburg, PA, brother, Robert Kyle of Dorset OH, mother-in-law, Betty Rhode of Painesville, OH, nieces, nephews, and his beloved cat, Meadow.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Kyle, grandson, Michael Shaffer, and father-in-law, Bud Rodhe.
