Irene Parker

On Saturday, June 29, 2024, Irene Parker, age 97, passed away at The Inn at Christine Valley in Youngstown, OH. She was born May 12, 1927 in Youngstown OH to John and Mary Lesnansky.

In 1945, Irene graduated Chaney High School and in 1947, she married her husband, Paul S. Hassay.  She was a homemaker, loved to cook and along with Paul she raised their three children. In her spare time, Irene enjoyed painting and as she got older, yearly winter trips to Florida. She also belonged to the Red Hat Society.

Irene is survived by her sons, David (Cindy) Hassay of Poland, Dennis (Darlene) Hassay of Poland, Paul Hassay of Boardman; grandchildren, Dave (Domi) Hassay, Kristen (Drew) Hepler, Laura (John) Mancini, Monica, Danielle (Dave), Rachel, Julie and Richard Hassay; great-grandchildren, Izbelle, Kennedy, Audrey, Garnett, Giada, Mariah, Mason, Gabriella, Kiera and Chloe.

Besides her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Hassay, Albert Petko and William Parker; son, Donald Hassay; siblings, George, John, Mike Lesnansky and, Mary Lesnansky.

Church services will be held at 11:00am on July 10, 2024, at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church-Campbell. The family would like to thank the staff at The Inn at Christine Valley for their care and compassion for Irene. To send flowers to Irene’s family, you may send them to Holy Trinity Church.
