It is with profound sadness that our husband and father James P. Hanahan of Sharon, PA passed away on May 16, 2024, at The Grove in New Castle at the age of 72. He was born July 31, 1951, the son of Mary Ellen Dempsey and Raymond P. Hanahan. James was a graduate of Sharpsville High School class of 1970.
James is survived by his wife Linda Lisi Hanahan, whom he married on November 24, 1971; a daughter Jennifer Hanahan Caputo (Christopher) and son James Madison Hanahan (Amanda); grandchildren include Braden, Giaona, Avery, and Connor also Anthony (Victoria) and Matthew (Madeline) Caputo; great-grandchildren Annabell, Vincenzo, and Elouise. Also surviving are his siblings Donna Rollo, Mary Margaret Zolnier, Robert Hanahan, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his aunt Rita whom he dearly loved.
James and his wife Linda hosted foreign exchange students Berndetta and Toni from Germany and Chiara from Italy who they embraced like their own children. He had a passion for antiques that correlated with his love of history. However, his pride and joy were his family and grandchildren. James coached midget football and was an active member of the Sharpsville Gridiron. He maintained a terrific sense of humor always making everyone laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond Paul, Thomas Richard, Dennis Michael, and a sister Carole Hanahan Rolfe.
