On Monday, January 29, 2024, Jamie Donell Gibson, age 55, of Youngstown, OH, passed away at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. He was born on March 16, 1968, in Youngstown, Ohio to Gladys Marie (Lee) Gibson of Youngstown and the late Carl Van Gibson.
Jamie was a 1987 graduate of Rayen High School. While he was in high school, Jamie was a member of the football team. Following high school, Jamie earned a culinary arts degree and was employed as a chef. Those who knew Jamie describe him as a man with an easy going personality who had many friends and loved life. Jamie also loved to cook for his friends and family. In his free time he enjoyed watching the ID Channel and cheering on his favorite football team The Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Regina R. (Rivers) Gibson of Youngstown; beloved daughter, Jaymeisha Gibson of Youngstown; mother, Gladys Marie (Lee) Gibson of Youngstown; brothers, Troy (Denise) Gibson of Bunnell, FL, Carl (Sarah) Gibson of Cortland, Ian (Alea) Perry of Boardman; aunt, Minnie Lee of New Brunswick, NJ; uncles, Earl L. (Delphine) Lee of Youngstown; Sam (Katherine) Lee of Bloomfield, OH, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Jamie's honor at the Michael Kusalaba Library, 2815 Mahoning Ave., on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10:00AM until noon.
