Janet Marie Barillare, 74, of Boardman, passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2025. She was born in Warren, OH, on February 2, 1951, the youngest daughter of the late William J. and Bertha Charlotte (Ramsey) Nezbeth. Janet grew up in West Farmington, OH and attended Southington Schools, graduating from Chalker High School in 1969.
Janet obtained a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Youngstown State University in 1973. She was a passionate and dedicated educator for 30 years, teaching physical education and coaching gymnastics at Liberty Schools. Along with her family, Janet’s faith was the centerpiece of her life and she shared Jesus’ love with everyone she encountered. She was generous with her time and resources. Janet was always active, and she loved being outdoors enjoying sports, exercising, and spending time in her flower garden. Janet was an avid sewer, baker, and cook. She passed her legendary recipes down to her children who try (with varying degrees of success) to replicate them the way Mom used to make. Janet was never shy about telling you what was on her mind, and she lived life with a relentlessly positive outlook. She was always there to offer encouragement, advice, and motivation – whether it was a pat on the back, a kick in the butt, or a shoulder to cry on. Janet will be greatly missed.
Janet leaves behind her son, Jody (Erin) Barillare of Wilmington, DE, and daughter, Dr. Shannon (John) Barillare-Monroe of Canfield, OH; brothers, Robert Nezbeth of Kentucky, Kenneth Nezbeth of Leavittsburg, OH; sisters, Barbara Nezbeth-Bradley of Champion, Marguerite Nezbeth-Wildman of Howland, OH, Ruth Ann Nezbeth-Kirkpatrick of Littleton, CO; and 5 grandchildren, Keegan Barillare, Liam Barillare, Braeden Barillare, Dominic Monroe, and Hailey Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers William L. Nezbeth, Paul Nezbeth, John Nezbeth, Danny Nezbeth, and sister Mary Louise Nezbeth-Badanjek.
