Jennifer Lorene Seme

On Friday, February 27, 2026, Jennifer Lorene Seme, age 51, of Austintown, OH, passed away at Hospice House in Poland, OH.   She was born June 26, 1974, in Leadville, CO, to Frank and Katherine (Simmons) Seme.

Jennifer is survived by her son, Broc Barker of Nebraska; her daughters, Bethany Barker of Austintown, OH and Randi (Alex) Gunther of New Castle, PA; grandson, Kameron Green; her beloved companion, Dan Canton; and her stepson, Steven Canton, and step-daughter, Shade Canton, all of Austintown. She is also survived by her brother, Martin Seme of Colorado, and her aunt Kya Smith of Nebraska.

Jennifer had a deep love for nature and found solace in its beauty. She cherished plants and animals of all kinds and enjoyed spending time outdoors. A creative spirit at heart, she loved crafting and making soap, as well as cooking and baking for those around her. Jennifer was an avid thrift shopper who delighted in finding unique treasures. Her passion for music was evident in her love for concerts of any genre and collecting vinyl records.  

She had a natural instinct for helping others and formed friendships that spanned far and wide. Jennifer was also a true crime podcast enthusiast who enjoyed exploring stories with curiosity and intrigue. Above all else, she adored being "Mimi" to her grandson Kameron, who was the light of her life.  

Jennifer’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she be remembered for the joy she brought to others and the beauty she found in the world around her.  

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Frank Seme.
